This policy explains what personal information Rishi's Vision collects, why we collect it, and the rights you have over it. We ask only for what we need, and we treat it with care.
Rishi's Vision is a registered charity in England and Wales (no. 1152192), at Sunrise House, 140 East Parade, Bradford, BD1 5BP. For the personal information described here, Rishi's Vision is the data controller.
If you have any question about your privacy, write to us at info@rishisvision.org.
We collect information you give us directly, only when you choose to act:
To manage your annual membership we collect your name, address, postcode, country, phone and mobile numbers, email address, chosen username and password, and age group. This lets us securely manage your member profile and provide your membership privileges.
When you register for a yoga or meditation course, we collect your contact details to manage your booking and coordinate event logistics. Payment is taken through PayPal's secure checkout.
Your name, email address, mobile number, postal address, the amount and frequency of your gift, and — if you choose Gift Aid — confirmation that you are a UK taxpayer. Your card details are entered on PayPal's secure checkout and are never seen or stored by us.
For each participant: name, age, gender, postal address, email address and mobile number, any add-ons chosen, and Gift Aid / taxpayer status. Payment is taken through PayPal's secure checkout.
If you email or call us, we keep your message and contact details so we can reply and, where helpful, follow up.
A small amount of technical information needed for the site and secure payments to work, and — only with your consent — Google Maps. See our cookie policy.
Under UK data protection law we must have a lawful basis for using your information. Ours are:
We do not use your information to make automated decisions, and we do not profile you. We do not send marketing emails unless you have asked us to; if we introduce a newsletter, it will be on an opt-in basis and you can unsubscribe at any time.
Donations and event payments are handled by PayPal. When you pay, you enter your card or account details directly with PayPal — Rishi's Vision never sees or stores them. PayPal processes your payment as an independent controller under its own privacy statement.
If you choose Gift Aid, we share the details HMRC requires (your name, address and the gift) so we can reclaim the tax on your donation. We keep Gift Aid declarations for as long as the law requires.
Your information is held securely and access is limited to those who need it. Some of our providers, such as PayPal and Google, may process data outside the UK. Where they do, the transfer is protected by appropriate safeguards recognised under UK law, such as an adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses.
We keep your information only as long as we need it. Membership, donation, course and Gift Aid records are kept for 6 years to comply with UK tax law and charity-accounting requirements. Membership accounts that have lapsed for over 2 years, and general enquiry emails, are securely deleted. After that, information is securely deleted or anonymised.
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
To exercise any of these, email info@rishisvision.org. We will respond within one month. Using these rights is free.
Our gatherings welcome families, and an event registration may include a child's details. If you register someone under 18, please do so as their parent or guardian. We collect only what is needed for their place and safety at the event.
Participants under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first at info@rishisvision.org so we can put it right — we will acknowledge your concern within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our response then you may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK regulator, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
