Billions of humans inhabit this planet, distinguished by race, nationality, religion and gender. Yet in essence there are only two kinds of people: those who know the truth of who we are, and those who don't. All other distinctions are arbitrary.
So arduous is the odyssey of truth that it is serendipity to meet an enlightened being in one's lifetime.

One such rare pearl of wisdom is the self-realised master, Anandmurti Gurumaa. Born with an exceptionally endowed mind, even as a child she was keen on exploring the fundamental nature of reality. Besieged by existential questions, she embarked upon an inner voyage that culminated in self-realisation.
Profound compassion for all sentient beings now takes her from one continent to another — holding meditation retreats, giving erudite discourses, encouraging self-enquiry, and inspiring especially the youth to an evolved way of living.
Gurumaa has awakened to the higher reality — she not only talks, but walks the talk. Completely secular, with no allegiance to any one religion or sect, she welcomes theists, atheists and agnostics alike with a warm, open heart.
The search for truth is her only religion. A complete rationalist, she stands firmly against blind faith, encouraging earnest rational enquiry in its place.
The master's extraordinary creative flair is reflected in a vast body of literary and musical compositions and meditation aids. She has given highly erudite commentaries on ancient scriptures, and great insights into the lives of glorious masters.
There is no dearth of spiritual literature in the world — but dead books can give you knowledge, not wisdom, says Gurumaa. A living master is essential, guiding each seeker according to their temperament and capabilities.
Beyond the esoteric, Gurumaa has spoken extensively on the mind, emotions, stress, health and sensory indulgence — subjects especially relevant in this day and age. Profound concepts arrive in simple, lucid language, laced with anecdotes everyone can relate to.
This material is compiled as books in various languages, CDs, MP3s and DVDs — and the dedicated Amrit Varsha app keeps followers connected with ashram activities at all times.

An embodiment of benefaction, the master is a passionate humanitarian — regularly lending a compassionate hand to communities hit by floods, drought and earthquakes.
Mission Shakti, a movement she spearheads, is a non-political, non-sectarian organisation empowering deprived and underprivileged girls through education and life skills — towards financial independence with dignity.
